    Moritz Gotze

October 20, 2012-July 7, 2013 Rourke Art Museum Born in the former East Germany, Götze's first artistic medium was screen printing, a technique associated with Pop Art. His practice expanded to include painting, drawing and porcelain enamels. Influences vary from the work of his father, Wasja Götze, one of the few pop artists from East Germany, to the illuminations of the Middle Ages. Around the millennium, he began to focus on political and historical themes. Götze work has been exhibited and collected throughout Germany and Europe. Götze creates work of imagination and intellectual curiosity, of fun and contemplation. Accessible and challenging. Art that provides insight into the personal, as well as the communal and global. Art that deepens our understanding of a shared past, present and future.

    SHREK THE MUSICAL

Full of all-new songs, great dancing, and a heartwarming story of love despite adversity, Shrek The Musical is part romance, part twisted fairytale, and ALL family-friendly fun! In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre—not a handsome prince—shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a bad guy with a ‘short’ temper, along with other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily there’s one on hand….and his name is Shrek!
